Wooden front porch painting, Llangyfelach, Swansea

painter and decorator swansea

An Edwardian style wooden porch at the front of a house in Llangyfelach, Swansea was in desperate need of decorating. The cracked and peeling dark mahogany coloured paint gave a bad first impression when approaching the house. We were approached by the owners, who were looking for a painter and decorator in Swansea, after a recommendation in mid September in order to get the work done before another winter of bad weather caused more damage to the woodwork.

The light sage green colour requested by the owner was not available ‘off the shelf’ in the appropriate paint finish to guarantee the ultimate exterior protection, so it was necessary to hand mix to achieve the desired colour.

After sanding back to bare wood, Weathershield Exterior Preservative Primer was applied, before 2 coats of Weathershield Quick Dry Undercoat, finished off with a further two coats of the specially mixed colour Weathershield Exterior flexible satin finish was applied.

Zion Chapel refurbishment, Waunarlwydd, Swansea

We were contacted by the Deacons of Zion Welsh Baptist Chapel in Waunarlwydd, Swansea in early 2019 to quote on the interior painting and decorating as part of the refurbishment work being undertaken at the chapel. The building was in a bad state of repair with paint peeling and areas of plasterwork damaged due to damp and water ingress. From multiple quotations we were appointed for best value for money.

Indoor scaffolding was erected within the chapel to provide a safe working platform to access the whole ceiling area. The preperation work was then undertaken by first scraping and sanding all old flaking paint, cleaning then sanding and repairing all plasterwork and wood structures. All the surfaces were then treated and primed with specialist products before three coats of paint were applied to everything.
